Memory Cards

I was preparing today for a little photoshoot I am going on tomorrow.  I need to take an SD memory card with me.

Now I use CF cards (as seen in the blip) for my main camera.  I have been using CF cards of various capacities since I had my first digital camera in  2005.  I don't recall a single card failing on me.

However, I have had several SD card failures.  Today, one SD card could not be used by my compact camera because the camera reported that the card was locked.  It wasn't.  Another card works fine in the camera and the camera will show me the shots I have taken, but the computer refuses to recognise the card and  can't download the images.  Any card like this which is unreliable goes straight into the bin.
