Pipe Lines

Intrigued by the noises coming from a field near us, we set off to see what was going on.  Nothing to do with farming, as we had thought, but the installation of new pipe lines.  These are to carry electrical and fibre optic cables to the local sub-station and the electricity comes from a wind farm miles away in the hills.

Planning permission for the 19 km pipe line was granted in 2015, yet we knew nothing about it.  I expect they stuck a few posters on lamp posts and hoped that nobody would bother (or be able) to read them!  I don't suppose for a minute that we'll notice any improvement in electricity supply or broadband speeds, but I hope someone, somewhere will benefit:-)
