FireFighter Five

This morning Mr P ran a 5mile race that started off from the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service at Birkenshaw.
Before the race l had a look around as this is where firefighters are trained.
The site is filled with numerous buildings, cars, train carriages, buses etc to be used for training purposes , reminders of just what a brave service they provide.
We laughed at an old memory ours when we once went to a New Year's Eve dinner dance upstairs at a large fire station in Leeds and when it was time to go home lots of us slid down the firefighters pole, l was in high heels too.
Don't think that would happen today with health and safety.
Mr P ran very well and when we got home he told me he was the first over 70, l told him well done and asked how many others were in his age catergory,
He then told me there was only him!
There were lots of firefighter badges from around the world framed and displayed in one room and l thought this particular set looked wonderful.
