Parish Walk

Sunday 13th August 2017 (1814)

This afternoon we had our parish walk, starting at Rufford along the canal and then through Mere Sands Wood - 5.7 miles in total. We stopped in the wood for a special moment. I had taken a bottle of wine and we raised a toast to our absent friend, who had been with us on last month's walk. It was a very hot and sunny afternoon and a lovely walk. 

We finished off with a meal, most going for the two course Sunday special. It was a relaxed atmosphere and no-one seemed to want to go home.
