Last Train to Snowdon

Breakfast meant Breakfast today, ooh what a lovely B&B... we forget the last B&B we were ever in.. decades ago!

A 5 minute walk along the road and we were at the Snowdon Mountain Railway for our postponed trip. And as luck would have it, it was a hot sunny day, clear summit, not like the original time we had yesterday. An hour to get up on the train, 30 mins for photos then an hour back down. It was a nice wee trip with some stunning views all the way. The blip is surprisingly taken at the top. The 1st extra is looking back down to the valley we were staying in. Once down and fed with ice-cream, we drove south through Snowdonia National Park. This is not an area I ever recall visiting but it too was lovely, very similar to North West of Scotland just smaller scale. We really need to revisit with more time...

We were heading for the last night under slate and stopped at Devil's Bridge on the way. We had seen it in the Welsh crime series Hinterland, which we love. The 2nd extra is in fact the Devil's Bridge, ok it is actually 3 bridges built on top of each other. The first in 11th century, second in 1753, the third and top bridge in 1901. We spent an hour walking down to the waterfalls and plunge pools below it.
