2017 Sunday -- Sea Shanty for Breakfast

One of our first memories of Cayucos is of the restaurant with all the hats.

Summer of 1985 we vacationed with our teenage daughter. The three of us traveled to the Monterey Bay Area in our VW bus and we had our tandem bicycle and a single mountain bike with us. We spent the night in numerous areas and bicycled in each of those places. We drove south on Highway 1 from the Monterey/Carmel area through Big Sur and stopped in Cayucos.

We had lunch in a Cayucos place with hats in the rafters and the image left quite an impression. It was the Sea Shanty.

Currently the Sea Shanty is one of our favorite breakfast places, and the memory from all those years ago is a favorite too.
