what we did today...

Edinburgh book festival

Standing in the queue for a Anthony Horowitz signature in his book. The queue for this one was 2 hours long! We joined it after we'd had lunch, browsed the bookshop, bought the book, and then realised that the next show tickets that I'd bought were actually for tomorrow. Still we queued for 45min. He was very nice tho and chatted to C about his book and his reading.
It was a funny queue - 100s of children and their parents standing in queues reading books.
D and I had browsed the book shop while A n C saw Anthony H, D wanted a pocket eyewitness book on Sharks. He also wanted the one on rocks and fossils but I said he could only have one book. So he's told his gran about that one instead.
We also saw Jonathon Meyers, author of the world of norm. It's another diary type book but for Norm who is nearly 13. I was intrigued that most of the audience were girls even tho it's about a boy. I think it's a reflection on girls books, as from looking in the bookshop seem to all be about princesses, cats, witches and unicorns.
