Kingfisher

Yesterday one of the regular visitors to the Wolseley Centre showed us a fantastic photo he'd taken of two kingfishers at Croxall Lakes, another one of the Staffs Wildlife Trust nature reserves.

He'd been in the second bird hide, quite a walk from the car park.

When the rain stopped, I decided to give it a go. The second bird hide is about three quarters of a mile from the car park but I was ok (with a couple of sits)

I was richly rewarded. The kingfisher flew past a couple of times and then fished from the log. I've chosen a photo of him with his fish - and an extra as he was coming into land.
