Fond farewell

Today was the funeral of my dear friend Christopher at Chelsea Old Church.  It was a delightfully moving service and I managed to hold back the tears. The eulogies to Christopher were warm and loving, just as they should be.  A man who could speak three languages, had professional qualifications for his trade in four countries, spent 12 years sailing around the world (several times), and generally excelled at anything he did.  Not because he was naturally gifted, but because he worked to make sure he did.  I think my favourite expression of the day (aside from 'he was an exceptional man, despite being a charted accountant).  was that 'these are the good old bad days', thus, enjoy every moment.

Strange day to have away from the boys, on my way home and it'll be delightful to get back into being a mum.  Refreshed once again from a London trip, happy to be going home.
