Legoland - Take 3
Early start as J had to catch the morning flight and be at the airport at 9:00am. Unusually there was a long delay at security - there was one person in front of him, normally you have to play "Eeny, meeny, miny, moe" to choose which poor sleeping security person you should wake.
While the children and I delivered J, their parents rode the two e-bikes, the 6km back to the bike shop in Ottobeuren and we then met up in town bought a few snacks and headed home before setting off for Günzburg and Legoland, an hour north of us.

While Legoland is not exactly steeped in the Bavarian cultural tradition, it has become part of the annual family traditions.

(Just as Elliot gets out his Legoland Deutschland cap for these visits, so do I get out the same garb).
And so we spent a great day doing some new rides, rides we hadn't managed before and some of the old ones again. I say "we" but mean "they" - I learnt my lesson last year and am more than happy to be loaded with rucksacks and/or go to the car to get fresh snacks and/or take the odd photo and/or to wave and yelp at a distance.
Actually worked out well and the queues were astonishingly short, generally not more than 15 minutes and this despite the excellent weather and it being one of the two busiest holiday weekends. Bavaria itself doesn't start school holidays for another week but there again the majority of visitors are not local but from northern Germany, Holland etc.
The organisation for the day out had been undertaken by Angie who through her employer was able to book us much cheaper tickets, so that was a further bonus. Thanks Angie.
Tired but not exhausted we left before closing time having seen and done all we wanted to. Collected some provisions at a supermarket on the way home - Lidl with Kate saying the layout was identical to UK & Eire, so she was able to whiz around the aisles to get what we needed in the 5 minutes before closing time at 8:00pm.
While Dad and the children had a last dip in the pool, Kate & I quickly put together dinner, Angie being at a small street party in the village. We were afterwards too tired to join her, but instead once the children were in bed, had some time lazing on the sofa and chatting, something that we could/should do more of but time is always so limited and so much we (I) want to do, see and visit.
Some impressions in extra photos.
