The Lundy Eye

A view fit for a Queen

Aberdeenshire holds a lot of happy memories for me. I worked here for 17 years and spent a lot of that time in the countryside meeting the local people.
Others, slightly more weel-kent than me, also found this area attractive, notably one Queen Victoria who made her Highland home at Balmoral.
This picture is of the Queen's View, said to have been her favourite vista in the area. It is in the Howe O' Cromar, between the villages of Lumphanan and Tarland, and looking towards the mountains of Deeside.
Probably hasn't changed much since her day.
