Day 1

Seeing 54 family cyclists heading out for the day is quite a sight. Littlest was 8, oldest was 70. 11 families of one sort or another this year. Today was supposed to be  a gentle 24 mile ice breaker but it actually turned out to be 38 by the time we rolled in for the eagerly anticipated cake at the end of the day. Today's stops were at a cafe (natch) and then at the Elbe Seitenkanal's biggest lock for lunch. Not much talking at dinner until everyone had properly stuffed themselves with more delicious food laid on by the lovely kitchen staff.
