From the Pentands to nudity in a day
Began the day with a long run that was easier than I expected. I don't usually run every other day only when I'm up in Edinburgh. I arrive back to find Susan had an appointment for a CT scan in Livingston, leading to a rush, no breakfast and into the car to get to the hospital for 10.55.
We made it in time. The CT scan didn't reveal anything untoward. They still think it is bursitis, but they have ruled out anything serious such as an infection. It was around 1.00pm when we left. I was ravenous. Susan just has to take it easy and hopefully the injury will improve over time. She thanks you once again for all your kind comments and good wishes.
After lunch it was into Edinburgh on the 44 bus Susan in a wheelchair for a couple of shows. No visit to to Edinburgh would be complete without a ride on the 44 from Balerno to Edinburgh and back and today was no exception. Very easy with the wheelchair too with ramps sliding out to make boarding easy.
The first show was "Giants - for an hour" a fast moving, entertaining comedy show with Will Hislop (son of Ian Hislop) and Barney Fishwick. The second was "Wild Bore" https://edinburghfestival.list.co.uk/event/831439-wild-bore/a surreal observation on the status of women in the theatre according to the reviews of (mainly male) critics. The show began with the bare bottoms of the three women perched on a table "talking" about the reviews about their shows and others involving women. The show ended with all three cavorting around the stage without a stitch. I sort of saw their point, the show was certainly different and replaced the previous oddest show we'd seen at the Fringe some years ago. That involved a naked lady being wrapped in cling film.
