The tranquility of today's canal walk reminded mean of the story of two puppets who came alive left to their own devices on the boat.
People were growing their own vegetables on the roof and brightly coloured plants and shrubs were placed carefully on the decking. Most could be seen with the addition of a partially assembled bike making it an environmentally friendly mode of transport . At least it would be if they were still pulled by horses rather than diesel but can't have everything and a s a footprint it may well be less than most of us contribute.

Lunch at Hackney Wick still life drawing group was a delicious beetroot said which was welcome as part of a four or 5 mile meander through the afternoon sun.
