Chips with everything

Planted my new birthday shrub at the weekend and today tidies the border adding new bark chips. Looks nicely ready for Autumn and this willow log is there to help with the micro environment for any bugs needing shelter or food.
It's surprising how many bees I notice on paths and on the grass, not sure whether this is normal or whether they are suffering with the hot dry weather we've had, but at least my bee size water feeder might help some of them
