Hythe Venetian Fete

A truly different event.
I came across it when watching an episode of the BBC's Coast a couple of year's ago.
If you're ever in Kent in the third Wednesday in August in an odd year then head to Hythe for an entertaining few hours.
I thought that the image of a Gondolier and Viking heading in opposite directions on the Royal Military Canal just about summed it up.
