Huys de Dohm
Hidden behind trees with a lot of greenery lies "Huys de Dohm".
The name "Dohm" is derived from the Latin domus, meaning a house. Huys de Dohm dates back to the 8th and 9th centuries.
There are plenty of clues to assume that originally this place was one of the many chariots of Charles the Great.
In 1647 the building was destroyed, but in the same year the Dohm was rebuilt on the old foundations.
Part of the former canals can still be distinguished. The Dohm has been inhabited by many noble genders.
Known as the late 14th century Jan van Wilre,
15th century from Corenbach,
16th century Van Hulsberg called Schaloen,
16th century Lamberts, Tunderwelt and Van Till.
During the occupation of the genus Van Till, the Dohm was robbed and shot by the "Schouffers" from the army of the Duke of Luxembourg (1678).
This thus took place during and after the 80 year war.
