Sea and sky
I spent the day in St Ives, visiting the Tate and Hepworth Museums (both really inspirational and luckily I caught the guided tour in both of them), poking around the shops in the town, and staring out to sea. I was quite transfixed by it - in spite of the weather being so goddam awful (squally rain most of the day with interludes of squally dampness). Or maybe the awful weather was just as much an attraction as beautifully sunny weather would have been, because the sky and sea were constantly changing as the clouds thrashed above. There is that awful saying, isn't there, that "the light in St Ives is just so amazing", but after staring out at the sea off and on all day, I have to admit that there might be some truth in this rather trite cliché.
[You might notice that I've only got my compact camera with me - unfortunately, I don't have a lens on the Nikon at the moment so I've had to make do without it this weekend, which in some ways was a shame and in other ways it was nice not to have to lug it around.]
