Salisbury Crags

Spent the morning replacing the transmission components on the commute bike. It doesn't take long to remove the old chain and gear cassette. The chainring takes a bit longer as the bolts are a little seized. I did try to remove the pedals, as I bought new ones last year for the commute bike, but the cranks whizz around.

Coffee time, with the delivery of grocery shopping. Nice to sit down for a wee while.

After coffee, the new components are fitted. There's just a slight adjustment required to the rear derailleur. Now the cranks don't rotate at the slightest touch, I can replace the pedals as well. Manage to finish just in time to get the bike stored away before a wee rain shower arrived.

In the afternoon, it was down to Newington for charity shop shopping. Managed to get a new breakfast bowl for twin 2. Also got a nice shot of Salisbury Crags with some tourists doing the caterpillar walk up it.

Got home, had to pump up the tyres on both bikes. Looking forward to a Sunday morning ride. Before that though, there's the new series of "Il Commissario Montalbano" on BBC4.
