And we'll walk in the sun....
What a lovely day.
Started a bit slow, because we consumed the alcohol last night. Naked Wines very kindly sent me a case of wine last week, and we decided to sample, one or two (or in Himself's case, three).
I had heartburn all night, and had to venture to the loo several times... but this morning dawned bright and breezy and we got up tidied up, and headed up to the allotment to check out our work from yesterday, and everyone else's plots.
We were stunned to see that the Sweet Corn had actually grown overnight. I think it must have been the rain. Everyone's allotments are providing loads of inspiration for next year. Loads of crops - Sweet corn, potatoes, courgettes, tomatoes, peas, beans, green beans, garlic, lettuce. it's amazing - so many.
After we headed for shopping... you always forget something don't you? and we forgot too.
Then it was up the road, work on the garden - we can't afford to leave our garden a mess and spend too long at the allotment. So I potted some baskets, himself cut up pallets, and then bless him - he cut the grass. It just looked too long and damp for me to manage.
After dinner, we took another wee run up to the Allotment - there's nothing more peaceful than a wander round just as the sun is setting. The birds are all flapping about, as if we have interrupted them doing something secret. Total silence. No Rugby. No walkers, no fairies. No other gardeners. It was beautiful. And thanks to "Skin So Soft", no Midgies either.
We drove home through the town, and stopped off for a wee photo which I fired off to BBC Weather Watchers.
and then... at 1030, my phone kicked into life with notifications and texts, - my wee photo had been used for the BBC national news weather bulletin>
Thanks to the Blippers who noticed my name too :-)
A lovely day. And I think I've got a wee bit of sunshine too :-)
