Sandcastles on Allonby Beach

Living in west Cumbria gives us the best of both worlds - we're fifteen minutes from the fells and ten minutes from the beach.

So the beach is a great option for taking the dog for a run when the tide's out. It's not much of a "seaside" beach although the views across the Solway are stunning. This is the first time I've seen sandcastles on this stretch of beach. I should remember my own bucket and spade next time
