Well we went over to Ian's at midday hoping to help him see something of the eclipse with the pinhole arrangement. It did get a bit darker than usual but other than that what we saw is what you see in the extra! Clouds everywhere!. We were supposed to have seen a 99.3% eclipse which would have been pretty good. But there must be thousands of people who traveled many miles and spent hundreds of dollars traveling to places of total eclipse and then were disappointed. It seems to have been good in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and further south in Tennessee and South Carolina. I am sure NASA has some terrific photographs of totality and of the corona and many other little understood properties of the sun.
