back to basics
Well, we had a good storm last night and at about 1:30 am there was a huge crack and bang and the power went off. I called it in and at first they said it would be on at 3:30am, then 5:30, then 11:30 when two cherry pickers and a bunch of guys arrived. It turned out that the transformer on our pole was completely shot, so it was 12:30 pm by the time we finally got power. Meantime it was back to candles until the sun came up and we couldn't get the car out because the barn door works with a motor. I really must leave the door open or the car out when there is bad weather in the offing. We got five inches of rain and the creek was running well (see extra). Some folks got 7 or 8 inches and there has been plenty of flooding around. It all goes down pretty quickly as a rule round here.
