The Dirty Habit (aka Pilgrim's Rest)

Another challenging day for landscape photography. I wasn't that inspired with other possible images either. We went to Hollingbourne to pay a bill and collect the house keys (the outside of the house had been painted while we were away) so we decided walk from Hollingbourne along the Pilgrim's Way to Harrietsham and back. It was good to get on to some different ground, following in footsteps of people who have walked this ancient track for hundreds of years.

I was unsuccessful in finding out anything about this pub other than knowing that it's been here a long time and has been a resting and place for refreshment for many a century.

Earlier we'd spoken to Chris in San Marcos on the occasion of his birthday. He was all brushed up on account of flying to San Francisco later that morning to meet clients. Not long til we see them both at the end of next month.

Even earlier we were in the garden, me picking up apples then mowing the grass, Susan putting a final coat of paint on the windows of the studio. I joined her later to put a final coat of paint on the floor. All painting now done. Measuring up and deciding the funtiture is the next and hopefully, the final, task.

A new camera arrived as well. I've had the Panasonic FZ48 since 2012 and have long thought about a replacement. So I ordered a FZ1000 which is still a bridge camera, which I prefer but also has the facility to save in RAW. The model has been about a bit but still comes top in bridge camera reviews. Came with a free tripod, free 32gb SD card and £50 cash back from Panasonic. I have some time to get used to it before next month's trip.
