A source of great irritation

I'm so annoyed with this dog right now. He gets a nice long run along the beach and play in the sea in the morning, breakfast, time with the family, then a bone, 2x toys with treats in it, plus another few toys for while we are out at work/school. All of a sudden I now come home to him and he has spent the hours we have been away licking at his fur. He is obviously a bit unsure or nervous about something but I just can't figure it out. Nothing has changed. Frustrates the hell out of me!
