The People's Choice

Popped in to my local town of Walsall and was taken by this display outside the New Art Gallery.  These flags adorn the lamp posts in the square adjacent to the gallery.  It was such a vibrant display, made all the better by the sunshine.

The flags are there as part of the celebrations of the 125th anniversary of the gallery's Permanent Collection this year and the launch of their new online collections database.   The gallery invited the public to curate this year’s annual collections display!

**It was only a couple of days later I noticed another event had been taking place in the Gallery Square. It makes a lot more sense that the flags were there for Walsall Pride, which was happening on the Saturday**
