The Edge of the Wold

Sleepy Hollow

This is one I prepared earlier, as they say. The weather has been dire today (25th September) and I really didn't feel inspired to try and find something interesting in the wet, so it's an opportunity to post a blip from the beginning of the month, the day after the August Blue Moon. After Nancy's funeral service on the 31st, what had started as a bright, clear day turned into a cloud-covered evening and we didn't see the blue moon rise.

On Saturday evening, Tom and I and the bigger fella and little fella walked up the Wolds scarp from BW in the hope of a good sunset viewed across the church steeple. The sunset wasn't so spectacular as it happened, but then as we reached the top and the light was failing, the moon began to rise behind the lonely farmhouse. We found our way back down to the village by the light of the moon, and with the help of the local knowledge of the little fella. A good little adventure.

After this, I didn't see the moon for a few weeks, we've had so many cloudy nights.
