This is my Prairie

I suppose we had to leave the Rockies at some point...

We wandered around Cochrane a bit (the old Wild West) and then headed north to my home town (which is actually a city and the capital of this fine province).

Many of you will know Alberta for oil and the tar sands. I was going on protests against the tar sands back in the 80s, I imagine a long time before you heard about pipelines. Despite that, This is my prairie. This is my home.

We dropped off the hire car and were picked up by my dear friend Carolee. Back at her place I felt like I hadn't been away at all. It's so good to be with good friends and like-minded people.

The extra is for Tim. It tickled him greatly!
