Reddish velvet cake

Full on day with final arrangements for the flower show; the judging; lunch for judges and Committee members; open to visitors; speech of welcome; prize giving; raffle; auction and tidy up.

Then out for a meal with friends including my goddaughter.

Somewhat weary tonight!!

Came second overall. Some extras. Did much better in the vegetable section than in previous years (I suspect all the earthworks in the garden last year helped). Was also hugely impressed at the creativity of others in the craft Section.

My cake did well, though a criticism was the it was not red enough (presumably because when baking it I ran out of colouring and the shops were shut!). No matter: it tasted good though I say it myself.
