SCARCE?
I went to Saltholme reserve for a break from work and had a lovely time as usual. I nearly fell in the water trying to blip this lovely little thing, and I've uploaded the photo to iRecord to have it properly identified because to me it looks like Lestes dryas, the Scarce Emerald damselfly. I think it's identical to the one on the British Dragonfly Society website, but (a) they're very scarce (hence the name) and (b) they've not been recorded this far north. So it's probably something else. But rather beautiful.
