If you can't beat them...

Nuthatch.

I mentioned a while ago that we had been visited by a Nuthatch, which only happens a few times a year.   Today we had another visit, from this rather beautiful male.  He appeared numerous times during the day and I saw him at all the different feeders, even the Nyjer which was a bit of a surprise.

I also mentioned how few of them there were 30 or 40 years ago.  Having checked the figures during the 68-72 survey breeding was found in just 7% of the 10Km squares in the 07-11 survey they were breeding in 43% of all the counties 10Km squares.

Other than the nature watching (which included Song Thrush almost as rare in our garden as the Nuthatch) a fairly lazy day around home.
