Number Crunching

Today was the annual Barrow Fell race organised by Keswick Athletics Club. In spite of the Keswick Show being cancelled due to waterlogged fields, this race went ahead as usual and attracted a hardy band of competitors.

Here the race results are being number crunched in a field HQ, while runners and supporters happily mill around awaiting the prize-giving. As with all fell races, the atmosphere is so laid back that one wonders how anyone could be galvanised enough to race up and down very steep fells!
