Settling in...
Collected my university card this morning. I'm officially a student of Universite de Paris X. Quite exciting and I think I understood all of the French. Going to choose my modules tomorrow.
On the way back home (actually called it that yesterday, must be settling in) I stopped by the market and bought some nectarines, felt very French. Then popped to get a baguette later which was still warm having just come out of the oven. Could very much get used to that.
Pretty much only spoke French in the morning then me and Mairead headed to a bank which claimed it allowed you to open an account without an appointment but instead they gave us an appointment for Thursday of next week. We did chat to another customer who tried to help us in the queue and wanted to know if we thought France was more expensive than England.
We went to another bank as we really need accounts as soon as possible and they made us wait 15 minutes and then after about an hour chatting to the guy and giving him our information we were out with our bank accounts. Our cards will be ready in 7-10 days and we got to practice quite a bit of French.
Went into Paris to meet Nikki for a drink. It was really nice to catch up and exchange experiences as she's been here a bit longer so is further through the maze of French admin we have to face.
