change is happening

Wandered round the hipster part of Hull today.  Change is happening; young bearded men and young tattooed ladies are busy setting up, moving in and running new businesses.  There’s a real buzz about the place.  

A lot of the old is making way for the new - and what isn’t knocked down is re-used.  Many of these new businesses are giving new life to some of the fine old, but badly neglected, buildings -  reminders of a time when this was once an important trading port and member of the Hanseatic League.

While all this change is going on, basic human needs have not been forgotten; (see extras.)  

And I’m pleased to see that, despite the changes, Hull has hung onto its white telephone boxes.
