Creativity
All around Cowal, and further afield, I have been seeing bales with at least one in pink wrapping on the top, often with some sort of decoration.
This set is just along the road from my house and tonight I asked the farmer, my neighbour John McNaughton, what it signified, if anything.
The answer is two fold. Stephen MacKellar, a local agricultural contractor and part of a local farming family, always wraps the last bale of a field in pink. It is a sort of trade mark.
He also likes to make a little joke of it if he can. So this one is a dig at John's son Archie and a running gag they have.
Creativity and communication everywhere - that is life, thank goodness. As are the puddles which are also everywhere locally after a very wet summer, with more rain forecast, alas.
