The Outer Banks

We spent the day driving along the Outer Banks taking in some breathtaking scenery - miles of roads with sea & sand on both sides.

We drove 270 miles & caught 2 ferries for 3hrs +.

We stopped @ the Hatteras Lighthouse with its 248 steps , at Kitty Hawk we saw where the Wright brothers 1st flew their aeroplane and in Rodanthe we saw lots of houses on stilts similar to in the novel 'Nights in Rodanthe'.

Arrived at Wrightsville beach for a few days of rest :-)
