The old and the new

Allegedly Winter has passed and Spring has arrived. The garden is pooled with rain in places after about 6 hours of solid rain but the plum trees are stoically blooming today with the promise of luscious Christmas plums in the main image. Each year we fill many buckets to give to our neighbours both at Rukuhia and Lake Tarawera. The old plough rests in the garden amongst the native flaxes  and in the distance over the fence looking towards the west coast and Raglan 40 odd minutes away we can see the Te Uku Wind Farm on the horizon and Mount Karioi in the distant background. Each blade on the turbines is 49 metres in length.
