Barsviken

On the way to Sundsvall we diverted to Barsviken, a small village on the coast. We'd left early enough to fit in a walk on the way and we had vague memories from many years ago that Barsviken was worth a visit.
In the end we found a sign suggesting a walk along the peninsula, then we found the path. It lead along the peninsular past some grave mounds from the bronze-age and early iron-age. The oldest was built 2000 years ago, apparently by the side of the sea. I've read that these mounds may have been a signal to passing ships that this area was occupied.
Unfortunately the end of the headland was just a little too far for the time available so we didn't make it there. Instead we stopped at this lttle bay and sat a few minutes in the warm sun. Behind us was a wind shelter with a fireplace so it would good to return with some sausages, perhaps a goal for a kayak trip with that perfect kayak harbour!
In Sundsvall we had acupuncture from our good friend L.Å., and then dinner. The treatment perhaps explains why I was so tired when we got home - too tired to even blip!
