These lines on the floor are super helpful in hospitals, clever idea.

I only needed it the first time though, many years back, but now I know my way to the Metabolic Unit at Edinburgh's Western General.

Had my six month checkup today, HbA1C registering an almost bang-on 6.8%. Pretty impressive for just after Christmas and New Year.

A great bunch of staff in this place, from the receptionist, to the nurses, to the chap that flashes the brightest flash ever into my eye balls, to the other nurse that weighs me, to the consultant who makes you feel just darn good about yourself.

"Just come back in six months"
