The Lone Magpie

Just before sunrise the new dawn rays spread across the sky and flooded in through the open window waking the birds. The lone magpie sat taking it all in for a while as did I. Beautiful.

'Red sky in the morning ...' was never truer as it has rained solidly all day since, giving giving me and Hubs an excuse for a date for Sunday lunch in a beautifully old-fashioned Cotswold country pub.
