Surprise!

Surprise parties are (imho) a bit of a curate's egg.

We attended one yesterday for one of the elderly relatives.

I knew (!) that the last thing she ever wanted was to have a party.

So, was she disappointed?
Of course not!
She enjoyed every single moment, and so did everyone else!
The sun shone upon the proceedings, for which we all sat outside all afternoon.Much tea was consumed (and so was a decorous amount of alcohol). Delicious food was enjoyed.
And cake.
