Bright red sports car
It feels a lot like a preparation period, preparing for winter by taking delivery of two stere of logs for the fire (it took nearly all morning to stack them as they were just dumped on the driveway). Preparing too for a winter of work by setting up projects that we have won and writing proposals for others, yet to be won. N was busy hedge cutting when Jean-Luc and Michel dropped by, the latter very excited about his "new" car a 1950s Triumph TR3. I was trying hard not to recite a verse from Roger McGough's "Let Me Die a Youngman's Death":
"When I'm 73
and in constant good tumour
may I be mown down at dawn
by a bright red sports car
on my way home
from an all night party"
