Dreams

We visited the Mairie first thing this morning to register the work that is going to be done on our barn roof next week.  As it turned out, the Mairie was closed for a training day, but we met the mayor as he arrived for work and he agreed our works on the spot (vive la France!). We then worked hard all morning and went up to Lac du Tolerme for a walk this afternoon.  The weather is very calm, as if the sizzling heat of summer has passed and a cooler, more reflective, season has arrived.  I am trying hard to mirror this change of mood in my own psyche. Later, N and I had rosé and chatting on the terrace about dreams past and present.  Then we had dinner of manchons de canard with green beans.  At the lake we saw an intriguing installation (see extra).  They are the guardians of dreams.  You can post your dreams in a little box and the guardians will look after and cherish them. My dream is really about maintaining the wonderful present for as long as possible - is that even admissible as a dream?
