Our View For The Next Seven Days Pt 2

Moving day.

My dad has never been able to get a second week at Pestana Grand to tag on either before or after the week we have just had, so we have to relocate to the Pestana Promenade, which is just ten minutes down the road.

They are two completely different hotels. The Grand (in my opinion), is far more homely, whereas the Promenade is far more holiday home like. It will be a totally different week this week to last week, even though we are virtually in the same place.

The move went like clockwork, and was much better than previous visits. Usually they kick you out at ten and then you are hanging around waiting for your room to be ready in the second hotel. We had a letter saying we could stay in our room until two, and then get transferred. So we quickly packed the case, sat down by the pool for a few hours. Collected our stuff, got transferred and then moved seamlessly from one hotel to another.

The pool here is heated and chlorinated, unlike the Grand, which is salt water. After some of the baking hot days we have had, it was quite nice for a refreshing dip in a cool pool.

We said goodbye to our friends we had made over the first week, who were going home. It is always a sad time the middle Monday. Let's hope the second week is as good as the first.
