It's Wednesday again
Today's long walk was from Elsdon, a small village near Otterburn. Brian and Jean used to live here; in fact they built a house near the village green and this was their family home when the children were young. Jean told me that her two could go and play down by the burn during the school holidays, returning home when they were hungry.
We went and gawped at the house - which looks lovely. Then Geoff led us on a route march an exhilarating walk over the moors. It was lovely, but hard to keep up with him. He blames the holiday in Poland!
My blip shows Gwen enjoying the walk. Steve and Brian are following close behind. I used my little Lumix today and wasn't happy with the results, but I love the way that Gwen looks carefree and happy as we plodded over the uneven, tussocky ground. The heather is still out, only just, and the swallows were gathering.
Dick came to do the garden. I went out with tea and biscuits and I was promptly stung on the toe. I think it was a wasp that had flown into my open toed sandals. I'm sitting with said toe on ice. (I'll live......)
