Bergen Bryggen
Today we explored the wonderful city of Bergen. We visited Troldhaugen -- the summer home of Edvard Grieg (see extra showing the delightful grass-roofed concert hall and the quaint red "Composer's Hut" down by the water where Grieg worked.) Then we walked through the fascinating Bryggen -- the old warehouses of the Hanseatic League, built after the great fire of 1702. They are wonderfully colourful, and lean against each other like old friends as they inexorably settle on their foundations. On to the fish market to gawp at some wonderfully fresh fish (sadly including whale meat), before meandering back to the ship in the gentle rain.
