We had a really stretched day on site up at Farr, though much drier. Working right at the sides of a live carriageway there were no waterfalls, dogs or mountains and there wasn't time on the drive either way to take a blip break.

I am really scraping the blip barrel right now. This is at the low chainage end of the site.

Sorry, chainage is survey jargon for the distance from the start of an alignment, normally a road, and it has its origins in early survey methods where you measured over land by chain. The only time I ever did a survey by chain was at college and in truth the techniques were very clever and ingenious. Our lecturer was Mr Irvine, a really nice guy I had a lot of respect for him. His skill and knowledge was vast. I wonder what he would make of today's kit which requires little survey knowledge.

Black box, push button, distance out, next.

Girn for today:
I have just had an auto generated text from vodafone saying my bill is more than doubling from next month with no explanation. I stupidly tried to sort it by web based chat and that has served to enflame my frustrated rage at them. I will phone a person in the morning. I just missed them tonight at 8.02pm.

I jump through hoops every day in life trying to help our clients and I get annoyed dealing with folk who go out the door at 5 and will get their wages regardless of the service they have provided.

Anyway this building is a CRM design I think and given it is a B and B I can't imagine any web exposure will offend the owners.
