Umbrellas!

Once a month our church is used by a congregation of The Syrian Orthodox Church who are a congregation from mainly Kerala in South India. Every year in September they celebrate the feast of the Virgin Mary with a special service and parade. Today was that day. It was lovely to see the parade of special saris and glittering umbrellas. The congregation of men, women and children carried flags and banners and walked to the beat of drums and the passers by watched in amazement.
Davidsons Mains doesn't often see sights like this. I'm glad it didn't rain even although the temperature didn't quite rise to that of Kerala today!
