Misty Morning

I opened the curtains on a proper Autumn morning to a misty vista.  The mist coated everything in a film of tiny droplets, moisture which hung around until mid morning but after a brief flirtation the sun remained stubbornly hidden.

In the afternoon we went to the open day at Manor farm stables in Lyng where Jamie used to ride.  A raw wind blew cold like March, chilly.  We spent a fair bit of time inside the stables where Jamie communed with Hector (extra pic) whom he used to ride ..... and hopefully will again one day.

Clematis orientalis (or at least close to orientalis) a wild form from China which makes up for having relatively small flowers with this bronze flush on the petals which seems more pronounced in cold weather.  It'll be in flower now until the winter frosts.  This is  a self sown seedling which has established improbably in one of my larger troughs!
