Scrap cushion

A few years ago we were lucky enough to stay with a friend in her home near Guatemala City. Guatemala is an exciting country to visit with stunning scenery, beautiful people and, most exciting for me, beautiful textiles. I should have brought an extra suitcase! I did buy some lovely embroideries. At one of the markets we visited they were selling packs of small scraps of fabrics cut from huipiles, the embroidered blouses worn by Guatemalan women. When I got home I enjoyed putting the whole clashing collection of scraps together into a cushion cover.
